First 'Belgian' Opel Super Six 1939 discovered!
This is the fourth Opel Super Six 1939 in total
The fourth Opel Super Six was located in Germany.
It is a beautiful 4-door sedan with the model of the Kapitän.
Wolfgang Koriath from Berlin did send me (chairman of the Stichting Opel Super Six) an e-mail and told me that he had bought an Opel Kapitän in Belgium that had a badge with 'Opel' on the glove compartment and on the hood it had written 'Super Six'.
Unfortunately, one of the previous Belgian owners did also add the post-war badge with italic lettering 'Kapitän'. :(
Fortunately, the man did leave the badges with Super Six on the hood...
Hubcaps are totally missing on this car and only on the rear bumper (bumpers are of the correct pre-war model) the middle section is with the correct Opel logo.
This Opel is also lacking the information plates of Adam Opel AG or General Motors Antwerp s.a. under the hood, like the other three Super Sixes.
So this is the first 'Belgian' Super Six!
Until now all my attempts at Belgian oldtimer car clubs and on oldtimer forums to find an Opel Super Six with the model of the Kapitän were of no avail.
The type seemed to have disappeared in its country of origin.
The score now stands at 2 convertibles Super Six and two four-door sedans Super Six. (Except this latest find, all are in the Netherlands)
On the attached photo the badge 'Super Six' is barely visible, but it is there!
